Wireless Architecture

The Controller

The primary function of the Controller is to configure and manage the Wireless Access Points connected in the Network.

Controllers possess features to ensure Security policies in the Network. Controllers may have a limited number of Ports (PoE) for connecting the Access Points, as an additional feature.

The Access Point

The Choice of Access-point is Radio, Radio Management, at times, certain controller features, which can be supported by the AP itself. The Type and configuration of the Antenna play an important role in the reach and speed of the network.

The Range can be extended by the Choice of Antenna, provided the model supports it. It is always a trade-off between the number of Users and the Speed of access. If both are required in a small office area, the power of the radio has to be manageable to create more (or optimum) cell sites.
